Obedience Classes
During the classes an instructor will provide you with the techniques to teach your dog the commands for that grade. We expect you to practice these techniques between classes, since the best way for a dog to learn is through repetition. Only 10 minutes a day is necessary.
During the class there will be an opportunity to ask your instructor any questions about what you have l earned, or behavioral problems that you may have with your dog. Do not be afraid to ask questions—your problem may be one that someone shares or knows the answer to! If the instructor is unable to answer your questions they will find the answer for you.
There will also be an opportunity at the end of the class for those dogs in the Puppy Class and Grade 1 to socialize, since part of obedience training is also about ensuring that our dog knows how to socialize, or interact, with other dogs.
Requirements
We require all members to have their dogs fully vaccinated prior to joining. If you wish to join the Club it is essential that you bring along your dog's current vaccination card.

The vaccination card must be sighted annually with each renewal of membership.
We also require your dogs to be registered with your local council.

What to Wear
The grounds we use are open for the whole community for many sporting purposes and differing surfaces can be experienced during training. Therefore as a minimum safety requirement for all group classes that dog handlers wear fully covered, closed in footwear for insurance purposes. Do not wear shoes such as thongs, crocs or sandals.
It is also wise to wear shorts or trousers with a baggy pocket for the treats or a "treat bag".

Correct collar and lead for your dog approved by the instructor. Preferably NO harnesses to be used in classes. (exception scent work). No use of extender/retractable leads to be use on club grounds on training nights.
